In every line, a story.
Vanessa Florence (b. London, UK) is a British-Ghanaian multidisciplinary artist whose work explores storytelling, memory, and identity through digital and tactile forms. Her practice weaves colour, texture, and composition to capture emotion, ritual, and the beauty found in everyday life.
In 2023, she challenged herself to create a new piece of art each month - a personal commitment to consistency and creative growth. What began as an experiment became a defining chapter in her artistic journey, laying the foundation for the visual language she continues to refine today. After taking a pause in 2024, she revisited her earlier works through tufting and other tactile processes, transforming her digital creations into textured, physical forms that bridged craft and storytelling.
In July 2025, Florence created a deeply personal piece to mark the tenth anniversary of her father’s passing - a moment that reignited her connection to art and reflection. The following month, she developed her series THREADS, which transformed the symbolism of hair into a visual exploration of connection, growth, and care - setting the tone for her evolving body of work.
As her practice expands, Florence continues to explore new creative mediums - all guided by the belief that art should be both personal and accessible, inviting people to see parts of their own stories reflected back at them.
Everybody has a story to tell - what’s yours?
